The Galway Market

It is encouraging to see how Irish companies are promoting themselves and their marketing operations. This is the way to raise appreciation of the Irish seafood sector  and the product they offer. Every Saturday at the Galway Market, Gannet Fishmongers set up stall, twenty-one years after they originally started.

“Our journey began in 2004. For our founder, Stefan Griesbach, seafood is more than just a business. It’s a lifelong passion. With over 35 years of experience in the industry, he brings that expertise to everything we do.” Gannet Fishmongers, Galway, home of Eatmorefish.ie based on the Ballybane Industrial Estate, with a fish shop offering 700 products.

“We are a small, brick-and-mortar fish shop,” they say. ”Whether you shop with us in Galway or online, our goal is to offer the same great selection, level of service and personal touch. No e-commerce inflation. Online or Offline, our prices are the same across all our point of sales. We are Fishmongers. 100 % of our Wild fish is sourced straight off the boats. When fish lands, all hands on deck join in to sort, fillet and pack all orders on time for our courier to pick up.”

Gannet declares its ethos: “How is it so challenging to find a good supply of fish on an island surrounded by some of the world’s best fishing grounds? Ireland’s relationship with seafood has been complicated and continues to be. But we’re dedicated to help changing this narrative. Our approach is educating and encouraging customers to eat more fish and learn about all the amazing catches from our local fishermen.”
