The annual general meeting of Comhdháil Oileán na hÉireann, the offshore Islands’ Federation, planned for last weekend on Clare Island was cancelled due to the tragic death of Skipper, Charles O’Malley of Clare Island Fast Ferries.
Mr O’Malley, aged 88, lost his life when his vehicle went into the water at Glen, on Clare Island.
Chairperson Aisling Moran said the meeting was deferred as a mark of respect to the “sudden passing of We offer deepest condolences to his family, friends and all the community on Clare Island.”
New arrangements for the AGM will be announced later.
