Episode 28 – Looking after former members of the Defence Forces

The Organisation of National Ex-Servicemen and Women tells us what they’re doing for former members of the Defence Forces who may have fallen on hard times. We hear from a lifeboatman, returned from America about what it’s like to be on call-out emergency duty on Christmas Day. BirdWatch Ireland appeals for public assistance in observing seabirds and Fisheries Ireland tells us that there are now 185,000 anglers in Ireland and what they are doing to track fish population changes with a new FLEXI system.

This is the last edition of the fortnightly half-hour programme. From next month it will change to an hour-long monthly programme. Thank you for your interest and support
